Rooster Andrews Sporting Goods is a family-owned business incorporated in 1971. Rooster Andrews (whose nickname came from a college prank), has been in the sporting goods business for over 50 years. He attended the University of Texas at Austin from 1941-1946 where he served as the team manager for athletics. Fondly labeled the "All American Water Boy", Rooster also served as the team manager for the College All Stars from 1942-1946.
Rooster's experience in sporting goods began right after college when he stayed in Austin and joined C&S Sporting Goods as a team salesman. He stayed with C&S from 1946-1969 and sold to schools, institutions, and organizations over the entire state of Texas.
From 1969-1971, he worked for Texas Sporting Goods until he resigned to begin his own business.

Currently, Rooster Andrews Sporting Goods, Inc. consists of 2 retail stores, a central warehouse, and corporate offices, all located in Austin. His wife, B.J and family members, Griff, Melissa, Betsy, Lisa, Mike, Will, Billy, Callie, Luke, Austin, and Adam all join him in the business. Although the sporting goods industry has changed over the years, Rooster's philosophy has not. He follows the same commercial principles he always has - "you make someone your friend, treat him fair, give them service, and they will buy from you, not your competitor".

Although we specialize in the team sports such as football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, and track/field, we stock other sports equipment as well. If we don't have what you're looking for, we'll be happy to try and special order it for you.
